How Halo thinks about provenance interoperability
Provenance standards can show media origin and change history, but they cannot prove every physical fact in an image. Halo starts with guided capture beside the vehicle, then decides which provenance details should travel with the record.
Provenance helps describe media history.
C2PA can attach signed details about where media came from and how it changed. Other systems can inspect that history without relying on a separate note.
That kind of provenance is important, but it answers a different question from the one a dealership has beside a vehicle.
Physical observation is still the first trust problem.
Provenance can explain the media file, but it cannot confirm that the right vehicle was captured from the required angles or that a physical condition was present.
Halo starts by guiding a person beside the vehicle, checking the required coverage, and keeping the capture context. Provenance details can then travel with that record.
The direction is interoperability, not a certification claim.
Halo is not claiming C2PA certification, membership, compliance, or general availability. The goal is compatibility with trusted-media systems while being clear about what each layer can prove.
